Injured Kane Richardson ruled out of remaining India tour

Australian paceman Kane Richardson has been ruled out of the remaining tour of India 𒅌due to a side injury with IPL rౠegular Andrew Tye replacing him in the squad.

“Kane reported some left side pain at training prior to the opening T20I in Vizag,” Australia physio David Beakley said on Wednesday.

“Unfortunately he has not recovered well enough in order to play a further part in the tour. Kane will return home to continue his rehabilitation, and we (will) monitor his progress over the coming weeks.”

Richardson, who has been pretty successful against India in ODI cricket, was hoping to continue his impressive form from the Big Bash League (BBL) where he finished top of the wicket-taking chꦐarts with 24 scalps in 14 games as Melbourne Renegades bagged the title.

Meanwhile, a recall for Tye, who last🔯 played an ODI for Australia in June 2018, potentially puts him in the frame for an ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 spot.

In his last ODI in England last summer, Tye became the second Australian bowler in histo⛦ry to concede 💫100 runs in an ODI.

The 32-year-old has played 7 ODIs and 26 T20Is for Australia. He has been recalled after claiming 17 wickets for Perth Scorchers in the recent BBL.
