Chasing a target of 165 runs, India wa⛄s taken home by captain Virat Kohli with a masterful 61 after openers Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma got them off to a flier. Krunal Pandya took four wickets during the Australian innings and earned the player of the match award for his performance.
During the match, there was a moment when Australia’s right-handed batsman Chris Lynn was sent back packing by the brilliance of Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah.
This all happened in the 18th over of first innings. With🅘 Australia at 6-131 with just🎀 three overs to go, the big-hitter was key to building a tricky total for India to chase.
He had made a sound start and was on 13 off 10 balls after being moved down the order to No.6. But he got no further help from his batting partner Marcus Stoꦜinis.
Stoinis dropped one short and elected to take a quick single. But with Lynn halfway down the pitch and Bum𓃲rah steaming down to collect thedirect hithad a change of heart.
He retreated behind his crease and sent Lynn back to his at the bowler’s end.
Lynn didn’t make it in time as Bumrah comfortably ran him out with a direct-hit.
The batsman ap✱peared to have a wry smile on his face as he accepted his fate and walked back to the dugꦓ-out.
