The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) junior selection committee has named all-rounder Jayant Yadav as the skipper of India’s 15-man squad for the Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2018. The tournament is scheduled to take place in Sri Lanka from December 2 to 17.
The 28-year-old Yadav, who has played four Tests and an ODI, last represented India in the fꦫirst of the four-Test series against Australia at Pune in February last year. He is currently playing for Haryana in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2018-19 season.
Much will be expected from Deepak Hooda and Nitish Rana, who have performed impressively in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Fast bowler Shivam Mavi, who was a part of Prithvi Shaw’s victorious India U-19 World Cup side, also earned a call-up.
Punjab leg-spinner Mayank Markande, who earned widespread praise in his breakthrough IPL season, repres꧋enting Mumbai Indians, has also been pi🌸cked in the 15-man squad.
India failed to progress past the round-robin 🍷stages in the Emerging Teams Asia Cup last year and will look to improve on their dismal show.
