Indian spinners were clinical in their performance during the first ODI against South Africa in Durban as Team India beat the hosts by six wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the 6 match🌜 series.
While the wrist spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav took five wickets between them and gave away just 79 runs in 20 overs, part-timer Kedar Jadhav too chipped in with three over𝄹s giving away 19 runs for no wicket. Nonetheless, the bowling did their job as they restricted Proteas on a sub-par score of 269/8 in 50 overs.
After the match, wishes poured in for the Indian team as they put up a stellar show to win an ODI in South Afrꦛica after long seven years and Kedar Jadhav too praised the top performers but Chahal took a subtle dig at him for his unique bowling action.
“Rolled my arm over in our win against South Africa yesterday! I love bowling in the middle overs. Great spells from @yuzi_chahal & @imkuldeep18! And excellent knocks from @imVkohli and @ajinkyarahane88 to go 1-0 up.. Good start to the series!” tweeted Jadhav with a picture of him bowling during the match.

Chahal shot back with a cheeky reply, “Rolled your arm under not over Kedar bhaiyaaaa let’s keep this momentum going,” he wrote.

Chasing 270 for the victory, India captain Virat Kohli hit his 33rd OD⛄I century, which is his 1st on the Proteas land and stitched up a 189-run partnership in 30.2 overs with Ajinkya Rahane, who also scored 79 runs on the way to his fifth consecutive fifty in the 50 over format.
Already 1-0 up in the series, India w🅷ill now take South Africa in the second ODI on February 4 at Centurion.
