Indian wicketkeeper batsman Robin Uthappa has came in defence of Women cricket team’s skipper Mithali Raj, 🏅who became a target of online trollers for her dress.
Uthappa, took to Twitter and slammed the “silly minds”, but lamented that some of his fellow Indians are still “stuck in the same rut” of moral policing others.
Mithali Raj being treated badly by some silly minds. It's disappointing to see our culture stuck in the same rut

Mithali became a target of Twitteratis after she shared a throwback 🐻picture of her with friends, whe🃏rein she can be seen wearing a spaghetti top.

Just to give a glimpse of the narrow-minded, sexism on offer prior to Uthappa’s comment:

Well, this isn’t the first time Mithali has been at the receiving end of sexist comments on Twitter.
In August, she was trolled for posting a picture at a function where she had sweaty armpits. However, she then shut down the moral police by tweeting, “I’m where I’m because I sweated it out on d [the] field! I see no reason 2 [to] b [be] ashamed f [of] it, when I’m on d [the] ground inaugerating [inaugurating] a cricket academy.”
